LEARN THE FACTS & STOP SINGLE-USE BAG WASTE - REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE, REJOICE!!

* The average American uses between 300 and 700 plastic bags per year.

* If everyone in the United States tied their annual consumption of plastic bags together in a giant chain, the chain would reach around the Earth not once, but 760 times!

* According to the American Forest and Paper Association, in 1999 the U.S. alone used 10 billion paper grocery bags, requiring 14 million trees to be cut down.

* Plastic bags dont biodegrade, they photo-degradebreaking down into small toxic bits contaminating soil and waterways and entering the food-chain when mistaken for zooplankton or jellyfish.

The AARDA is the only national nonprofit health agency dedicated to bringing a national focus to autoimmunity. The need to bring a national focus to autoimmunity as the common factor in all autoimmune diseases is vital in order to bring a collaborative effort to research, funding, early detection, and eventually, prevention and cure for all autoimmune diseases.

Give Kids The World (GKTW) is a 70-acre non-profit resort for children with life-threatening illnesses whose one wish is to visit Central Florida's best loved attractions. Founded in 1986, GKTW partners with more than 250 wish-granting organizations from around the world who identify these special children and provide transportation to Orlando. Give Kids The World Village then completes the wish with accommodations at its whimsical resort, attraction tickets and meals for a week-long, cost-free vacation. This time provides a much-needed reprieve for children who know only medical treatments and hospitals, and for their families who are facing mounting medical bills. Since our founding we have granted over 75,000 wishes from children representing all 50 states and 53 countries.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure, formerly known as Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, was established in 1982 by Nancy G. Brinker. Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, we have invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
